*ADOPTED*
Avi was found as a stray along with Delilah. We were contacted by animal services to bring them in. We think he is about 10-months-old. He looks to be a Maremma cross.
From his new people:
“Avi” has now been here for just over 3 weeks and he’s decided to stay! He’s been a peach since day one.
We hope that he will prove to be a noble livestock guardian dog. Avi shows a lot promise so far as he learns from his mentor, our soon 4-year-old old Pyr/Maremma cross.
He has already shown appropriate behaviour around our free ranging fowl, and just needs reminding to not eat their food.
He will get some sheep of his own this spring so for now he is learning his manners, and basic commands and perimeter training.
He is wonderful with our kids, and loves the snow. We’ve had no serious issues with Avi. He mouths like a puppy and is learning his limits easily. His recall improves daily and his mischievous side is seen in playtime with his mentor, who keeps him in check.
He’s a keeper!
