This big sweetheart has officially been adopted. As her foster, we found she loves to swim as we watched her roll herself into the lake from the dock. And, as coincidence would have it, her new family has waterfront!
Congratulations to Ella and her new family!

Ella the Pyr came from a neglect situation where she was found tied on the end of a chain. She was very underweight when she was brought into the shelter. But, she seems like she was well-loved at some point in her life. She will cringe if you raise a hand.
She just loves her people and your guests, and laps up the love. She’ll find space under your desk to hang out while you work. Be prepared for a big Pyr paw or nose resting on your lap. She is learning to stay in her hot zone while food is being prepared in the kitchen. She catches on very quickly. So far, she loves spending time inside.
We don’t know how she would be with cats, but they would certainly be of interest to her so dog-savvy cats are best.
She hasn’t shown a mean bone in her body. After a trip to the dog wash, I brushed out a load of fur when she arrived, and when she became a little tender from that, she rolled onto her back and became silly. She has also learned the dremel is fine. She is pretty darned easy to work with.
She is lovely on leash except when she sees a chippie or something she hasn't seen before. She is getting better about this.
She loves her crate in the mornings. She is good about being loose in the house. Just keep those counters clear of food. She is still underweight and hungry as we work to getting her weight back up. She will need an extra-large crate. She is a great night sleeper.
She loves her raw diet.
If you want a dog to love who will love you back and more, she is the one for you. Be prepared for a Pyr hug when you meet her.
