Frank: pure inspiration

Finnighan, House Mgr

Our GP-mix chose my husband and I to be her parents while she was staying at a local shelter. For the first eight weeks we had her, she was a frightened ball of nerves, but over time she has become the most loving, playful, cuddly, and interesting family member we could ever hope for.

I am asthmatic, and one day while we were walking along the side of a hill, I had a mild asthma attack. I had forgotten my medication at home so I sat down to rest with my legs stretched out infront of me. Finnighan immediately stood over me like a statue, in what seemed like a protective stance. Her back feet were beside my left knee, and front feet beside my right knee. She was hyper-vigilant, glancing around the open space like a secret service agent who was "securing the area". I was touched and grateful that even a two-year old mixed Pyr would do this.

I get a big lump in my throat when I think of this and also when I read other people's accounts of their Great Pyrs' smarts and loyalty.

Welcome to the club
by: Ed A from NJ

You have now been indoctrinated to the club of people who know that guardian angels do walk among us. Dressed all in white and they should be. She will prove it to you over and over again.

When one of these lovely stories turn up on these pages, I'm sure there's a collective sigh of delight for you AND for all of us out here who recognise in your words their own Pyr's loyalty and devotion. You are blessed, as are we all. Enjoy the ride as they say!
